SummaryGolfers have awarded Bro Hof Slott Golf Club with the title of best golf club of Sweden in 2016, with an average rating of 9,31. The Golfers' Choice rankings are compiled based on 300,000 reviews from golfers across Europe on Leadingcourses.com.
Bro Hof Slott wins inaugural Golfers' Choice Award in Sweden
Over 250,000 golfers visit Leadingcourses.com each month. Based on their rankings, Bro Hof Slott Golf Club, with an average rating of 9,31, has been voted 'best golf club overall' in Sweden in the Golfers' Choice Rankings. The rankings for best golf club are compiled based on numerous aspects influencing the quality of the golf club, such as the golf course itself, the overall impression of the club, maintenance, facilities such as practice facilities, clubhouse and the perceived value for money.
Located just outside of Stockholm, Bro Hof Slott Golf Club unfurls along Lake Mälaren and is a nirvana for golfers. As a host of the PGA Tour’s Nordea Masters, Bro Hof Slott has two exceptional golf courses - both designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. - which are laid out in the spectacular grounds of the castle. The Stadium Course offers a picturesque but challenging lakeside test and brings water into play on many of its stunning holes. The Castle Course is a different, but equally refined challenge to its neighbour. With elements of Scottish links there is less water but more trees, tougher bunkers and narrower fairways, thus very different in nature to the Stadium Course and an altogether diverse challenge.
Visitors praise the design and the overall quality of the golf courses, the maintenance and the excellent service that is provided. User hiothomas writes: "Fantastic! Both courses are good, Stadium slightly better perhaps", and user kuisch says: "This is a play before you die golf course. Ryder Cup worthy."
Peter Nyberg, Managing Director & Club Director at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club is delighted that Bro Hof Slott has been voted Best Golf Club in Sweden. “We are very pleased and happy to have received the Golfers´Choice Award. Being voted as the number one golf course in Sweden means a lot to us at Bro Hof Slott GC. Especially since the award is based on the reviews and opinions of actual golfers. Our staff are constantly working endless hours to produce two courses in top condition. We want all guests to experience the best service on site and once they leave Bro Hof we want it to be with a big smile on their face."
Number 2 in the inaugural Golfers' Choice Rankings in Sweden is Halmstad Golfklubb. This tree lined course in the province of Skåne is praised for its diverse environment and is rated an 8,92 by golfers. Number 3 in the rankings is Barsebäck Resort. This renowned club just outside Malmö is rated with an 8,61. Falsterbo Golfklubb is rated as the 4th best golf club in Sweden and Katrineholms Golfklubb completes the top-5.
Katrineholms has the best value for money
If you are price conscious golfer, then Katrineholms Golfklubb is your best choice. According to golfers they do offer great value for money. With a weekday greenfee of only 395 Swedish krona (€ 43,-) it's a pleasure to play this fifth best golf club in Sweden. If only the price-quality ratio is taken into account, this club is rated with an 8,48. For only 300 Swedish Krona (€ 32,-) you can play Karlshamns Golfklubb, which is rated with an 8,40. The greenfee on Roslagens Golfklubb is also below 400 Swedish Krona. That is one of the reasons they receive an 8,35.
Golfers' Choice rankings, most up to date and transparent
Every year numerous rankings circulate, announcing the best golf courses in a specific country. The Golfers' Choice rankings of Leadingcourses.com stand out because they are based on the opinions of actual golfers, all of them available online at any time. This makes these rankings the most up-to-date, transparent and independent in the golf industry. Rankings are only compiled if enough reviews have been gathered for that specific country. In 2016, rankings will be published for The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Sweden, Turkey, Cyprus, Portugal, Wales, Scotland, Morocco, Tunisia, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates in addition to Spain.
At the end of 2015 more than 300,000 reviews of golf courses (in eight different languages) were available on Leadingcourses.com. All reviews on Leadingcourses.com are verified and manually approved by a dedicated content team. Golfers who have reviewed multiple golf clubs receive a higher status and his or her review will therefore have more weight (and thus impact) in the overall score of a club. To avoid any manipulation of its rating, various checks and balances are in place to track and signal questionable conduct by users. A golf club is only included in the rankings if they have received sufficient reviews.
Leadingcourses.com's aim is to help golfers to play on the best golf courses available, based on their handicap, demands and location. For instance, golfers can quickly see how other players with a similar handicap value a certain club or course. Obviously they can also view the overall rating, based on all opinions. The site was founded in 2007 and has an active golf community. At the end of 2015 it had over 300,000 reviews on its site and more than 20,000 golf clubs and 24.000 golf courses were mapped in more than 125 countries. As Leadingcourses.com values cultural differences, the site is available in eight different languages.
